Cloudy or dark image

Fogging, haze or a dim picture — often moisture inside or damaged optics.

Broken lens

Chipped or cracked distal window, objective or eyepiece lens.

Bent or dented shaft

A bent shaft distorts the image and can damage the rod-lens system.

Fibre damage

Broken light fibres cause dark spots and uneven illumination.

Leakage

Failed seals let fluid in during cleaning or autoclaving.

My image is cloudy only after autoclaving. Is that a repair?

Usually yes — it often means a seal has failed and moisture is entering the scope. Stop using it and book a diagnosis before the optics are damaged further.

How should I pack a scope for courier?

Use the original case or a rigid, padded case so the shaft cannot bend. After you book, we’ll send detailed packing instructions.
